The parents of a nine-year-old girl, who ended her life by jumping from the fourth floor of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur, have blamed a teacher for ignoring their complaints about their daughter being bullied. On November 1, the girl fell from a height of about 48 feet. Although she was rushed to the hospital, she was declared dead on arrival. CCTV footage captured the incident, showing her climbing the railing before her fatal jump.

The deceased student’s mother, Shivani, revealed that she had informed the teacher about the bullying, but no action was taken, India Today reported. Her father, Vijay, recounted an incident at a parent-teacher meeting where he saw a boy making gestures at her daughter. He mentioned this to the class teacher, who dismissed it, saying the girl needed to understand it was a co-ed school. The parents expressed dissatisfaction with the police investigation.

This is not the first time the deceased student’s family has accused the school administration of inaction. A family member disclosed that the girl had been complaining about being bullied for almost a year, but her concerns were ignored. On the day of her death, CCTV footage showed her approaching the teacher four times to complain, yet no action was taken.

The school authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the case. When the police arrived at the scene, they found that the area where the minor fell had been cleaned, with no visible bloodstains. The family has filed an FIR against the school administration, alleging that her death occurred under suspicious circumstances and calling for an investigation into the teaching staff’s role. The school administration has been accused of being uncooperative and silent on the matter.

The Joint Parents’ Association has also accused the school of destroying evidence and has demanded a fair investigation and strict action. Arvind Agarwal, the chief of the association, mentioned that they learned from the deceased’s uncle and other children that she had been harassed for one to two years.
