In a shocking incident, the decomposed body of a woman was found under a bed in a rented accommodation in Dundahera village in Gurugram on Wednesday, police officials said.
As per the police, the deceased, identified as 26-year-old Angoori, is suspected to have been strangled by her live-in partner, who is currently absconding, news agency PTI reported.
An FIR has been registered at the Udyog Vihar police station, police added.
According to police, Angoori had been living with the man, identified as Anuj, for about one and a half years. The couple had moved into the Dundahera accommodation around 20 days ago.
Locals told police that Angoori was last seen on October 31 when she went to work at 9 am and returned at 7 pm.
Preliminary investigations indicated that Anuj allegedly killed Angoori nearly a week ago and left after locking the room from the outside. The body was found in a highly decomposed state after locals complained of a foul smell coming from the house and alerted police.
A Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team examined the spot, and the body was sent for post-mortem.
“The accused is on the run. An FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway,” a senior police officer told the news agency.
