Union Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday dismissed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of large-scale electoral fraud in Haryana as a “diversionary tactic” ahead of the Bihar elections.
“They are doing all this to hide their failure,” Rijiju said at a press conference, asserting that the Congress was “looking for excuses for its impending defeat” with Bihar polling just two days away.
“We never questioned exit polls, but they can’t accept the people’s mandate,” he added.
Earlier today, Rahul Gandhi alleged that 25 lakh fake voter entries were used to “steal” the Haryana Assembly elections, accusing the Election Commission of colluding with the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Gandhi said the “vote chori” operation was a “centralised plan” to convert a Congress landslide into a BJP win.
The BJP won 48 seats in the 2024 Haryana Assembly polls, while the Congress secured 37.
