He also asserted that the Old Pension Scheme (OPS) will be implemented and farmers will receive an additional bonus on the purchase of paddy and wheat, free electricity for irrigation, and the interest on the loans of Jeevika Didis will be waived, along with insurance of ₹5 lakh.

Addressing a press conference in Patna at his official residence, the INDIA bloc chief ministerial face said from the response seen during the campaign, the people of Bihar are in the mood for a change in the regime. He added that the intended change will happen in Bihar because the people are fed up with the current government.

“There is great enthusiasm among the women of Bihar for the Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana, and they are determined that if the Mahagatbandhan government is formed, they will receive economic justice and support,” Mr. Yadav said.

He asserted the the INDIA bloc government will transfer honorarium for one whole year of the scheme, while earlier it was made ₹2,500 per month.

“Once we come to power, ₹30,000 for twelve months will be deposited into women’s accounts under the Mai-Bahin Maan Yojana on Makar Sankranti, January 14, 2026,” Mr. Yadav said while being accompanied by Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahani, who is the Deputy chief ministerial face of the Opposition alliance.

Besides, he also said that farmers would be given ₹300 per quintal of paddy and ₹400 for wheat as a bonus over and above the Minimum Support Price (MSP), if the INDIA bloc comes to power in Bihar.

He further said that heads of all Primary Agricultural Credit Societies (PACS) and Primary Marketing Cooperative Societies (Vyapar Mandals) will be given the “status of people’s representatives” in the State, if the Opposition alliance wrests power. “There are more than 8,400 PACS in the State,” he said.

“Besides, farmers in Bihar will be provided free electricity for irrigation purposes, if the INDIA bloc forms the government in the State,” he said, claiming that currently the government “charges 55 paisa per unit from farmers for the electricity used in agricultural activities”.

Launching a frontal attack on the RJD, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that those making “big” promises at present had “robbed Bihar’s youth of jobs and snatched the rights of poor” during their rule 20 years ago.

Addressing back-to-back rallies in Samastipur, Gopalganj and Lakhisarai, Mr. Adityanath claimed that an era of good governance was ushered in after Nitish Kumar came to power in 2005. “They (RJD) had robbed employment opportunities from Bihar’s youth, snatched the rights of the poor and brought ‘jungle raj’ in the state,” he said.
