The farewell to veteran actor Satish Shah was as emotional as it was unique. The ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ team, including Deven Bhojani, Sumeet Raghvan and others, gathered around Shah’s pyre and sang the beloved sitcom’s title track, leaving fans deeply moved. Director Deven Bhojani has now revealed the reason behind this touching gesture.
Sharing the moment on Instagram, Bhojani wrote, “May look mad, dark, weird whatever but we always sing this when together & today was not an exception. Felt as if INDU himself insisted and joined us. #RIP #SatishShah ji I am blessed to have directed you in #SarabhaiVsSarabhai. You’ll live forever in our hearts (sic).”

Fans called it the most fitting tribute to the actor who immortalised Indravadan Sarabhai. One wrote, “The best way to give an artist a final goodbye – he would be smiling from heaven (sic),” while another added, “A perfect farewell by the people who loved him most (sic).”

According to his manager, Shah collapsed while having lunch at his Mumbai home and was rushed to Hinduja Hospital, where he was declared dead due to kidney failure. He was 74.
